We are happy to announce that following the permission granted by the Ministry of Health, we will return to praying at our synagogue. This Friday and Saturday, Shabbat parashat “B’midbar”, May 22-23, 2020, services will be held at Har-El at 6 PM on Friday evening and Saturday morning at 9:30 AM. Services will also be livestreamed to our congregation’s YouTube channel for the benefit of those remaining in their homes. For the link, please click here.
Please note: the return to the synagogue is dependent on following the guidelines of the “Purple Badge” (Tav Sagol). Therefore, please read and be sure to follow all the instructions listed below for the sake of our health:
Only members of the congregation without a fever, not in quarantine, or not in proximity with a person in quarantine or ill with COVID-19 can enter the synagogue.
Sidurim, kipot, and talitot will not be handed out. Please bring your own siddur, kipah, and tallit from home.
Bottled water will not be placed at the entrance. Please bring your own personal water bottle.
All those entering Har-El are requested to wash their hands with soap and water before entering the sanctuary and to refrain from shaking hands or other physical contact. Likewise, we recommend bringing a bottle of alcohol gel for your personal use.
One should arrive wearing a protective mask, and to wear it at all times, including during the service.
The gate to the synagogue will be closed at 6:15 PM on Friday evenings and at 9:45 AM on Saturday mornings in order to prevent the entry of “walk-ins” and unknown guests. Apart from members of the congregation, entry will be permitted only for those who inform us in advance. At the end of each service, a picture will be taken in the sanctuary with all those present.
In order to ease our preparations for the return to the synagogue, we ask that all those who plan on attending services this weekend: Friday evening, Saturday morning, or both, to please send Whatsapp to Cantor Evan and confirm your attendance at 054-4742314.
You can also receive from Cantor Evan the code for the synagogue gate (in case you are running late), as well as letting him know if you don’t have your own copy of the prayerbook.
If there is a need, Har-El’s administrator Shany will be available by phone during service times at 053-649-9584.
Wishing all of us blessings on the return to the synagogue, and with wishes of good health and our thanks for your cooperation,
Har-El chairman Zvi Giladi and Rabbi Ada
