An Appeal to Our Overseas Members – Membership Renewal and Contributing to the Congregation:

Dear overseas members,

The 5781 Tishre festival season is soon approaching, and just as we turn to our local Israeli members to renew their membership and support, we turn to you, our overseas friends and partners, to renew your overseas membership and support of Kehilat Har-El as well. This year in particular, due to the general and financial uncertainty that has been created as a result of the coronavirus crisis, our congregation is more than ever in need for your generosity in order to navigate this difficult period and to continue its activities, both with the limitations of the coronavirus crisis and afterwards.

Kehilat Har-El, like other congregations, non-profit organizations, and many other institutions, have been hurt financially due to the coronavirus crisis.  Har-El’s sources of income have significantly decreased, primarily due to the cancellation of most of our overseas bar/bat mitzvah ceremonies along with other factors. Yet despite all the difficulties and limitations, since the beginning of the crisis we’ve made every effort to preserve the congregation and all of its activities, first and foremost our Shabbat and holiday services, classes, and the connection with our members.  Your generous contribution will enable Har-El to overcome these financial challenges and continue to be active and successful here in Jerusalem, in Israeli society, and in the Reform-Jewish world.

Overseas membership is a minimum contribution of $360 per year, but all contributions, large and small, are appreciated.

For those living in the USA, as in years past, contributions should be made through KBY Congregations Together, and are 100% tax deductible.  To donate online, please click here.   Checks should be made out to “KBY Congregations Together” (with a note stating that the donation is to be directed to Kehilat Har-El), and mailed to:

KBY Congregations Together
PO Box 23170
Brooklyn, NY 11202-3170

For those living outside of the USA, please contact Cantor Evan Cohen at [email protected] .

With our sincerest thanks in advance,

And with wishes for a happy and sweet new year, filled with good health for you and all your dear ones,

Har-El chairman Zvi Giladi and Rabbi Ada Zavidov
