INTERFAITH CONNECTIONS

From its early days, Har-El has striven for religious dialogue and understanding between different faith traditions including welcoming non-Jewish groups at our Shabbat and Festival services, and developing connections with Christian, Muslim, and Druze communities here in Israel and around the world.

On Saturday morning June 27, 2026, a special event was held at our congregation, Kehilat Har-El, initiated by Vice-chairperson of the congregation Orly Shevach, at which we hosted Kosovo’s Ambassador to Israel, Ms. Ines Demiri, who lives in Jerusalem. With the help of a presentation, Ambassador Demiri spoke about the history of Kosovo, the historic friendship between the Albanian people and the Jewish people, and Kosovo’s relations today with the State of Israel. Har-El member Orly Shevach shared memories of her father, the late Abraham Adijess, who lived in Kosovo during World War II.
